Gluten Free Cookbook
As if finding individual gluten free products isn't in itself challenging enough, now comes the time to prepare a meal and you have to come up with great ideas and recipes but still avoiding the gluten. What you need is a gluten free cookbook! Thankfully many are available. In fact, I was very presently surprised at what my research uncovered.
I started out by just simply Googling the term "gluten free cookbook" and low and behold more than 32,000 pages of content were found on the subject. I honestly would not have guessed that number to be even ten percent that big.
This is great news for the many individuals who suffer from gluten allergies or celiac disease. Living without gluten can be challenging enough, but it doesn't have to be "tasteless". It takes a little bit of work to discover the gluten free sources available to you, but once you do you'll find that there is very little that is not offered in the gluten free marketplace.
So, after getting very positive indications from Google, I decided to head over to my next step in the research process - Amazon.com. I did a quick search on Amazon and found 38 gluten free cookbooks and when I searched for gluten free recipes found 44 books available. Now, don't add those together, there is a lot of overlap in the results, but suffice it to say that there are a lot of options available for the aspiring gluten free chef. Another fact that I found rather interesting (and promising) is that a significant percentage of the books listed were released within the past 18 months. That means that from a marketing standpoint, gluten free products including things such as gluten free cookbooks are increasing in demand and supply is still catching up. Look for even more selection and more general availability in gluten free products in the marketplace over the next few months.
This information is not meant to endorse any one product or review of any specific gluten free cookbook, so I won't start rattling off names. Likewise I have not personally evaluated these various books as it would have been cost prohibitive to have done so. Here's what I would recommend to find a good gluten free cookbook. First and foremost, just like I did, start with Amazon.com. Simply put, they are the largest and most prolific online book store. Normally what I do is try to narrow down the results with very specific searching, but as this is already a quite small niche, so that step is hardly necessary. There were only around 40 cookbooks to select from, so you can just move on to the next step - check out the comments and reviews. Make sure that you are reading user reviews and comments and not the publisher comments (which will obviously be biased). Keep in mind as well, that when reading comments you can't put too much emphasis on any one comment. Instead read various comments and try to get an "overall" feeling of peoples general response to the book. Well, that's it for tips on finding a great gluten free cookbook. Bon apetite!
